A Day in the Life of a Professional Ticket Broker
- 9:40 AM – Wake up to check on my current auction levels, paid auctions, and total earnings from the day before. Waking up with more money in my account than when I went to sleep feels great!
- 9:50 AM – Prepare for battle! The ticket sale starts at 10:00 AM sharp (and I know exactly what tickets I want because of my research from the day before).
- 10:00 AM – Frantic battle to get the tickets in the right sections for the events I want. Many will try to get the premier seats they want but will fail because they don’t know the tricks…but I do.
- 10:15 AM – At this point I have at least one set of tickets, and usually a few sets more. I post them on Ebay with a very calculated listing; nothing is left to chance.
- 10:30 AM – Off to the gym, it is mostly empty since everyone else has to either go before work or after work. After my workout, I drop off tickets from prior auctions at the post office.
- 11:30 AM – Check on the Ebay listings I made that morning; at this point I am already at a profit, and those listings have three more days to double in price, or even triple if they are really great seats.
- 11:35 AM – Do a little research and figure out exactly what tickets I want to buy the next day.
- 11:45 AM – Another work day over!
My story:
My name is Mike Omar and I’m 26 years old (as of writing this in 2011). I graduated from the University of Florida and moved to NYC to work in finance after I graduated in 2006. I held a really good job for about two years until the economy crashed. I lost my job, and started looking around for other ways to make money since nobody was hiring at the time. Buying and selling tickets was something I’d made great money in during college (selling college football/basketball tickets), but this time I didn’t just need money for partying; I needed it to survive! That’s when I got serious about selling tickets online, and it has become one of the best decisions I ever made. Early on I made many mistakes which cost me a lot of money, but luckily I kept trying because I knew there was lots of money to be made. I eventually made a full time income off of ticket brokering and I never had to go back to a finance job! In retrospect, losing my job was one of the best things that ever happened to me!
Anyway, I wrote this ebook because I love to help others and would love to help them find a way to escape their dependence on an employer. Feel free to reach me through my contact page if you have any thoughts or questions.
